Reservations for the GCA Building
and Park

The
playground and park:
The
Gladesville
Community Park is open year
round and available for family outings. No reservations are taken, so a first-come policy is in effect for the outside facilities.
The playground offers a variety of equipment for children of all ages and limited seating for adults. A large covered pavilion
has several picnic tables. When a group reserves the building, the park becomes part of their agreement use.
Garbage
service:
The Community Association maintains garbage service during the months the building is open,
and the garbage bin at the edge of the property is provided for your convenience. Please take with
you any garbage that your visit generates during the months when the building is closed (usually December-February) due to
inclement weather.
What
you need to supply:
The
facility is maintained through a volunteer group of officers and GCA supporters who keep the grounds clean and the grass mowed,
who clean the building as needed, and who purchase necessary supplies. Please plan to bring your own paper products and
garbage bags for your stay. We ask that you inspect the premises before leaving, to make sure the bathrooms are clean,
the kitchen has been tidied and any equipment returned to storage, and the large room has a clean floor, with the tables and
chairs in order. Please carry all garbage to the appropriate outside container.
Garbage pickup in on Monday mornings in Gladesville. Please lock the doors when you leave and leave the key as pre-arranged.
Donations:
While
the facility is open for reservations, we must request a donation of at least $100 when use of the furnace is necessary. During
the summer months, we respectfully ask for a reasonable donation. Many groups give generously as they realize the expenses
for use of the building include insurance, utilities (electric, gas, water, garbage), and general maintenance.
Everyone
should do their part: The GCA has a long history of assisting the community (Gladesville and the larger regional community)
in providing a place for gatherings, both public and private. Please do all you can to insure that this property is well maintained.
We ask that you leave the building and park in as good or better shape as you found it.
